In the past, people would bring their chickens in at night after being outside all day to keep them safe from foxes. The chickens would be kept in the lower cabinets and dish-ware and other items would be displayed on the top shelves. The exterior of the cabinet is a lovely deep barn red. The interior and back of shelves is a aged mustard tone. The paint is worn in some areas and the wood grain shows through. Exact age is unknown. Top corner on the left side is loose and just needs to be tightened up.
